Stand with your fellow Protectors in a piece of kit that reflects both your service and your place within the Cabur Akaata. This shoulder cord is the approved in‑costume identifier for members of the Mandalorian Mercenary Costume Club’s military society — the Cabur Akaata (Protector Battalion), representing active duty, reserve, veteran, and retired service members from around the world.

Design & Heritage

Inspired by traditional military aiguillettes such as the French Fourragère, German Schützenschnur, and similar honor cords worn across global armed forces, this shoulder cord carries forward that legacy into Mandalorian costuming. It also draws visual influence from the MMCC’s rank ropes while remaining clearly distinct in both color and placement.

Key Features

• Coyote Brown Paracord Construction
Built from durable coyote brown paracord to set it apart from standard MMCC rank ropes.
• Left‑Shoulder Placement
Worn exclusively on the left shoulder, differentiating it from rank ropes, which are worn on the right.
• Optional Tassel Tails
Cords can be ordered with tails left on, allowing members to add a tassel or decorative element of their choosing to hang forward — a nod to traditional military cords and a way to personalize your kit while staying within society guidelines.
• Club‑Approved Identifier
Recognized within the MMCC as the official in‑kit marker for Cabur Akaata members. Works seamlessly with both the in‑club logo and the approved external‑use logo.

Purpose

This cord serves as a discreet but meaningful way for military members within the MMCC to identify one another while armored up — a symbol of shared service, camaraderie, and the Protector Battalion’s place within the greater Mandalorian community.

How to Measure for Your Cabur Akaata Shoulder Cord

To ensure your shoulder cord fits correctly and lays in the proper position on your kit, follow these quick steps:

1. Stand in your normal armor posture
Keep your shoulders relaxed and squared, the same way you wear your kit.
2. Place the start point at the top of your left shoulder
This is the point where the cord will anchor — right at the natural shoulder seam or where your vest/plate line sits.
3. Run the measuring tape down the front of your torso
Follow the same path the cord should take: a smooth curve that hangs naturally.
4. Stop 3–4 inches below your armpit
This is the standard drop length for the Cabur Akaata cord. It should sit just below the side of your chest plate without interfering with movement.
5. Record that measurement
The total distance from the top of your shoulder to that point below your armpit is half the length needed for your cord. Take that number doubled as the length needed.
